Mite Madness happend this weekend!!
For those of you who don't speak hockey, there was a huge tournament for the littlest hockey players (mites) in our district. It was soooooo cute! There was lots of hype surrounding the tournament, so the players got to experience being part of something big. They played 3 games over the course of the weekend. Their locker room was decorated with signs and streamers, there was music playing as they arrived, each player was announced individually (followed by lots of cheering, of course) and there were programs and t-shirts for all. It was a super fun weekend that ended with a team pizza party at Davanni's. The kids had a blast! Here are some highlights...
The official "Killer Whales" locker room door sign & streamers.
#6 skating (super fast) after his name was announced.
The team huddle.
Not so much paying attention to the game, but having fun nonetheless.
Looking fierce :).
Going for the puck!
(He only did it a few times, so I'm glad we have documentation.)
Looking so serious...
Lining up to congratulate the other team. Don't they look little??
One final attempt at a team photo...with trophies this time.
#6 with his favorite coach :)
Everyone - the players, the coaches, the team managers (yes, even mites have team managers :) - worked so hard this season. It was bittersweet to see it come to an end.
Until next year...
