Ten on Tuesday!

So it has been a while since we've blogged...we apologize and won't let it happen again. To start where we left off, Dane had a great Christmas. He didn't totally understand the concept of opening presents but he did enjoy playing with them. Below he is opening his presents from his Aunt Ashley...

...and then showing his appreciation with some good kisses.

He also got some goodies from his Aunt Wendy.

Dane got a Fisher Price guitar from Santa and has liked playing with it. Up next...Guitar Hero!

With our house accumulating many larger toys we created a space in our basement for Dane to play. We put down some foam mats and some white boards on the wall so he can draw on them. We also got him a little slide that he enjoys thoroughly.

Shelly's mom got Dane a toy vacuum for Christmas. The other day, Shelly was vacuuming and Dane was nice enough to help out.

And the winner for Best Toy of the 2008 Christmas season is a 2001 Memorex Boombox CD player. It wasn't really even a present. Dane spotted this in Shelly's younger sister's room and she told us he could have it. It is really similar to a CD player he uses in one of his classes, and he is completely obsessed with it. It doesn't have a cord so we've been burning through a healthy amount of C batteries. I've needed to modify it and fix it up a couple times. Dane dropped it and broke the lid shutting mechanism...yesterday he poured some of his milk inside it. We've also had to make extra copies of our CDs.

The crazy thing is that he totally knows how to run it. He knows how to start it, switch out CDs and turn the volume up really loud. As mentioned earlier, it is the MVP (Most Valuable Present) of the 2008 Christmas season.

Lastly, here are a couple fun pics. Dane has been practicing his "Magnum" face.

Dane has been LOVING apples lately. A couple weeks ago, he ate 4 apples in a single day.

And finally, this is Dane playing at the Mall while waiting to sit on Santa's lap. He must have slide down this 2 dozen times. Fun!

Well, it's about TIME! It looks like our boy really enjoyed his Christmas... and it's wonderful that he's loving the vacuum! Now if he just keeps that desire to help out with the housework... We've had one of those at our house that we got for Robbie when he was little, and each of the grandkids, including Dane when he was here, have played with it.

I love that bin of balls. I remember you saying how much he loved balls. I wish we had a basement area. Very cool for Dane. And I'm glad you're back too.
