We are right in the midst of a beautiful Fall. The trees are absolutely gorgeous. I am excited for them to fall in the hopes that we can get some fun pictures of Dane playing in a huge pile of leaves.
This past weekend, we had a wonderful visit from Hans-Dieter Kopal, a great friend from California. It took some convincing to bring him up North in mid-October, but once he got here it was great. We had so much fun with Hans and as you can see below, Dane took a liking to him right away.
Kisses were enjoyed by all!
Our Family went to a Pumpkin Patch to get some pumpkins for Halloween. They had a ton of extra stuff as well...baby chicks, chickens, hens, goats, cows, etc. There was also a huge corn pit that toddlers could play in. Cruz and Dane loved it.
Dane spent most of the time throwing the corn out of the bin, but enjoyed it all the same.
He walked around the pumpkins trying to pick them up...no such luck this year. Maybe next year he'll be able to grab his own. Some of the pumpkins looked pretty funny.
There was also an apple orchard at the Pumpkin patch and a sign that said..."Children may feed apples that have fallen on the ground to the cows." Dane did it a couple times and we were able to capture it. It was really cute because he would close his eyes as he held out his hand. So fun!
When he was done feeding the cow, we would cheer and he would clap...
Cruz noticed a booger in one of the cow's nose and tried to help him by pointing it out. "Excuse me, Mr. Cow...you have something in your nose...right there!" Such a nice young boy.
Hans taught Dane how to blow the seeds off of a dandelion. Notice how Dane closed his eyes on this one as well.
Hans played with Dane so much this weekend. Dane is going to miss him tons. I can't believe how old Dane looks in this picture. He's running more like a boy now and not so much like a toddler. We'll try and get some videos up on the blog soon. Til next week...

Normally I'm the cutest guy in the pictures but Dane definitely stole that title away from me. This was one of the best weekends ever. A wave of depression hit the second I stepped on the plane to come home but I will be back up to brave the Minnesota cold once again very soon.
I love the 2 photos of Dane & Cruz. Dane feeding apples & Cruz with the booger. Looks like you had a a great visit. I'm jealous of your pretty leaves but won't be of he temperatures.
HANS!!!!! Nana is envious that you got to visit, PLUS go to a pumpkin farm with the gang! What a treat! Such great photos, Shel... love the serious expression on Dane's face when he's feeding the cow!
So fun!!!! I thought the same thing on that last picture. he looks like a big kid running.
I found the shorts at Target. If they're still there (b/c we never get below 60 degrees here), I'll get a pair for you. I'll buy them for his Spring/Summer time age. Which would be 2T or 3T??? I can't tell how tall he is. Actually, since Ryan is so tiny, everything looks long and baggy. which is fine with me, but we're usually a size bigger than need to be.
What great pictures--I am envious of your beautiful fall!!
how pretty!! looks like dane and hans had some great bonding time:)
Dane is just gorgeous. That hair is so great! And his mellow demeanor is so pleasant, maybe he can marry Malyn and help balance her out!
Keep the fall pictures coming. We can enjoy fall through your blog:)
Hey Nana! Long time, no talk! Next time I go up North let's see if we can sync up our visits so we can finally meet!!
Sounds like a plan, Hans. By the way, was that wine or beer in your sippy cup?
VERY perceptive. It was beer. Always good to stay hydrated while playing with young children on the street.
