Back to School

We went back to school!

Technically, only two of us went to school - Dane to Kindergarten and Erik to Preschool - but the rest of us enjoyed the excitement!

We took pictures in our front yard before driving to school.
Dane was all smiles!

My sister, Leslie, told us about a fun tradition where your child writes his/her name on the first day of school each year.
Then you see how the handwriting changes over the years.

Erik did not want his picture taken.  He pretty much ran from the camera.
But Matt captured this sweet picture.
Melt My Heart.

This picture cracks me up!
Dane was all smiles and Erik was about to cry.
Tripp (with his awesome new straight bangs & popped collar) was just along for the ride.
(But at least he was standing still.)

We dropped Dane off first.
Tripp thought it was his first day too, and he marched in like he owned the place :-).

Dane got a little overwhelmed once we got in the school.
It was crowded and loud and crazy.
But he found his room, stashed his stuff in his locker and then headed straight for the toy cash register (very fitting since Dane loves earning/sorting money).
He did a great job!!

We dropped Erik off next.  He was a different kid once we arrived at school!
He let Matt take tons of pictures.
He couldn't wait to get inside to "play with trucks and trains."

Again, Tripp thought it was his first day too, so he led the way :-).

Little kids wearing HUGE backpacks are just adorable.  I can't get enough of 'em!

Erik headed straight for the train tracks.
Then he kissed us good-bye and that was it!
He did an amazing job!

After we dropped the boys off, Matt and I celebrated with a quick trip to Starbucks.
Woo hoo!!!

Then, after picking up Erik, we got to sit and watch Dane arrive home on the bus.  He did GREAT.
(I have to admit, I was sort of freaking out.  The bus was about 5 minutes late, and my blood pressure was rising by the minute.  Luckily, my mom was there to talk sense into me.  Aren't moms great?)

Just look at that face.  Melt My Heart Again.

So proud of you Erik & Dane!!!

Oh I loved this post Shell! Your boys are just the cutest...loved their matching shorts!! I just can't believe how big they are getting.

I would have been the same way with the bus being late... and yes Mom's are the best! :)

So glad everything went well for you all.
