I have come to realize that caterpillars are like pots of boiling water. If you watch them, they do nothing. But if you leave your house for a few hours, a cocoon is formed.
Watch them...nothing. Leave...magic!
We have been watching our caterpillars like little hawks in our house. And it's been really fun seeing them transform before our eyes. We did happen to catch one (out of eight) forming a cocoon, and it was amazing.

We released our first 3 butterflies today. Here's a video of Dane & Erik releasing one of them.
