Yep...today our little guy turned 2. We cannot believe he has been with us for 2 years now. This picture was taken at 6:39am this morning, exactly 2 years after he was born. We're planning on doing this every year as he gets older...looks like we'll have a great collection of him sleeping.
We had a little party for Dane last weekend to celebrate...Diego Style. Dane loves his favorite Animal Rescuer.
The party was on Saturday. On Friday night, we tried to teach him how to blow out a candle. It was pretty darn cute.
Here is a shot of his Diego Cake.
After we sang Happy Birthday, Dane was ready to show everyone the new trick he'd learned the day before. He was concentrating so hard on the task at hand.
He was able to get one candle all by himself and was so excited when everyone cheered.
He called in for some backup and Mom helped him out with the second candle.
After the candles were out, it was go time. Unlike last year, Dane knew exactly what to do with this year's cake.
At the end of the day, we got a quick family picture. Dane ended up not opening most of his gifts. He just can't sit still long enough to open them. In fact, he still has a half dozen unopened gifts in our living room. I think we'll be opening for a week or so.
Today at ECFE (Early Childhood Family Education), Dane got to wear a birthday crown and the class sang to him. This afternoon, he substituted his pants for his crown.
