God is Good

On Thursday, October 4th, 2012 these two adorable little boys accepted Jesus as their Savior and asked God into their hearts!!!

It all began on our way to school.  A 10 minute drive that could have been filled with radio buzz and silent thoughts.  But not in our car.  With a nudge from the Holy Spirit, we have been using our 10 minutes to practice scripture verses.

On this particular day, we were practicing John 3:16.
"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son,
that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."

Dane began asking questions about the words "perish" and "eternal life."  So we talked a lot about how our souls go to heaven if we have God in our hearts.  Which led to more questions about God and how he gets into our hearts.  So we talked about how simple it was.  Just a prayer.

And then Dane said he wanted God in his heart and he asked to pray THE PRAYER!!!!!

So we did it right in our minivan.  On the way to kindergarten :-)

And then Erik said he wanted to say the prayer too.  So he did.  At 3 years old.

The cool thing is that they asked to do this on their own.  I wasn't pushing it.  In fact, I made sure to tell them that this was their choice.  Not mine.  Not their dad's.  It was something they had to decide on their own.

I know this is just the beginning of their journey.  There will be tons of questions about God and life and why it isn't always easy or fun.  But the discussion has been started, and for that, I am forever grateful.

All in a 10 minute car ride.

Sometimes big moments happen at unexpected times.  God is good.

Amazing. What an extraordinary experience on an ordinary day; the Holy Spirit does incredible things. Your boys are wise beyond their years and certainly have hearts tender to the Lord. Yet another reason why you were led to drive Dane to school instead of have him take the bus! Love this and the boys :)
